![]() ![]() Among Black Power groups, the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense (BPP), founded in 1966 in Oakland, California, was the most violently suppressed, philosophically sophisticated, and glamorized and maligned by mainstream media. The existing scholarship is rich and multi-faceted, but has only recently begun to unravel and make sense of some of the central paradoxes and contradictions that allowed the militancy and self-determination articulated by proponents of Black Power to capture the imagination of African Americans and other marginalized groups both domestically and internationally-and in doing so, to win the fear and respect of agents of white power all the way up to the FBI. Much research about Black Power has sought to understand the influence of its driving personalities, to examine specific tactics or ideals of leading organizations, or to elucidate national shifts through studies of social and racial developments in specific locales. The burgeoning field of Black Power studies has produced a wealth of innovative and sophisticated treatments of the activists, organizations, and ideas that emerged in the late-1960s offering new and radical visions of racial equality and social justice in the United States. As seems his wont in 2021, James Patterson veers into the realm of the supernatural and into fantasy and even Sci-Fi horror as some may term it. In this collaboration between James Patterson and J D Barker, it is evident that most of the heavy lifting – in terms of the writing – is done by the junior member of the duo and it probably falls on the senior partner to give the work his finishing touches. Today's book review is on Geronimo Stilton's book "The Temple of the Ruby of Fire". overall it was a good book with a little bit of comedy and a lot of adventure. my favourite part in this book is when the bad guys get attacked by the good guys because i thought it was pretty brave of the good guys to attack first. my favourite character in this book is monkey fur because she can speak animal languages.i thought it was cool because she asked the snake for the diamond and the snake gave it to her. I would obviously prefer the fake diamond over the real because it can create fire. ![]() the original diamond unfortunately can't create fire and this diamond is behind the temple guarded by a snake.I rated this book a 4 was because the original diamond can't do anything special but if i sell it i could earn a lot of money. An ancient temple with something so precious as the ruby of fire is something which kinda made me a little bit excited for this book.the ruby of fire produces oil which makes fire.well surprise surprise the ruby inside the temple isn't the real ruby of fire although it can create of fire. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Beginning in 1920, Mauriac published almost a novel a year for two decades (in all, he authored nearly 100 volumes). In November 1909 Mauriac privately published his first work, a collection of poems ( Les Mains jointes ), that gained favorable notice from influential critics. Upon leaving secondary school in the region of his birth, Mauriac went to Paris (1906) to study paleography and medieval archeology. As a child, Mauriac was frail and shy, admittedly guilt ridden, unhappy, and introverted. His father died when he was 18 months old and he was raised by his pious mother, who appears as Mme. Mauriac was the youngest of five children in what can be termed a landed, prosperous, middle-class family. All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia."
